WE ARE COMMITTED TO ENSURING PRIVACY OF THE INFORMATION POSTED ON THIS APPLICATION!
The A4T App offers users a platform to monitor utilization of public resources at public primary schools and health centres in targeted places in Kenya. The Application also provides users with a platform for ANONYMOUSLY reporting corruption and misuse of public resources. Users are however encouraged not to post anything that will be against this cause including: any information which may effectively expose their identities when wishing to stay anonymous, anything obscene, defamatory, illegal, inciting, profane or abusive. Users will be responsible for the legality of what they post on the Application. Users may post reports, perform searches and queries, share and transmit information and use the interactive features of the mobile Application.
We do not collect and/or store any personal data without prior consent of the user.
The only instance where a user will be required to share personal information is when making reports through the Application. The information required when making reports through the Application includes: the user’s age group, gender and constituency. This information will only be used internally for generating general reports on the category of users making use of the A4T app and informing decisions for improved user experience.
The reporting functionality is set to allow a user to anonymously make a report through the A4T App.
All information submitted by a user in the description section of making a report is at the user’s discretion and implies express consent to share the information for use by the Action for Transparency team. It is advised that users should therefore refrain from writing any information that would expose their identity on any of the descriptive sections when making a report.
The A4T App has a security feature for anonymously giving feedback to users on reports made using the Tracking Code issued after successfully submitting a report. The Tracking Code is unique to every mobile app and therefore does not expose any information relating to the user’s identity.
All care has been taken to secure this information for retention only on the user’s phone and the Action for Transparency team.
The A4T App does not collect precise information about the location of your mobile device.
User location is an optional requirement feature for one to enjoy the full functionality of the A4T App using the map view of institutions closest to where you are. It is not mandatory for users to share their location and this is entirely voluntary.
Push notifications sent to your phone through the A4T App use automatically generated device IDs for each device upon downloading the Application.
We may use the automatically generated device IDs to contact you with notifications and other information that is specific to your device use of the A4T App.
