The EoC mentorship programme recently held a group mentorship meeting at the Nairobi Safari Club. The workshop was steered by two media experts namely: Frenny Jowi who is a free-lance journalist and a media consultant together with Wellingtone Nyongesa, an Editor at the Standard Media Group.
As part of the training, the Eye on Corruption mentors covered topics such as Sourcing for information, Attribution and Confidentiality, Script Writing and Storytelling. The journalists were also encouraged to bring their authenticity and uniqueness while telling their stories and they should always be ready as an investigative reporter is always prepared and aware of everything happening around them.
10 journalists are currently undergoing coaching and mentorship for the last 3 months in the Eye on Corruption programme and each of them are doing investigative research on different stories in light of creating awareness and exposing corruption in different areas.
